E6 – Security, Privacy Rick Management Program

“Putting lipstick on a naked pig” is a statement I heard 20 years ago in my information security class at Carnegie Melon University in Pittsburgh, USA. Seems like we are still doing the same after 20 years. In today’s digitally connected world, businesses have “become digital” than businesses “using digital”. Today’s CIO’s are not thinking of aligning digital with business. Rather they develop and implement strategies for transforming businesses as “digital businesses”. Digital and businesses have become one and the same. They are intertwined. Digital ecosystems have become the core of the overall business ecosystem. Business capabilities are fueled by technologies. This level of integration has expedited the transformation and innovation exponentially while posing enormous challenges to individuals, businesses, organizations and especially those who are in the field of protecting the children, seniors and other citizens from falling prey to those who leverage this connected digital ecosystem for their own greed and sexual ends. The connected world has allowed hackers to access information from a remote corner of the world thousands of miles away and bring down the businesses to its knees and destroying businesses from mere existence. In many cases, these hackers are not only affecting the businesses from existence, but also pushing millions of people around the world to the brink of despair.

INVORG enables new comers to rebuild their lives

The image of a toddler washed up on a beach near Turkey, fleeing of millions refugees escaping from the brutal wars, the recent arrival of Syrian refugees in Canada, and other recent news have brought back so much of my own memories to the forefront. This month is remembered as a “Black July” by Sri Lankan Tamils around the world in commemoration of the killings of over 10,000 Tamils in July 1983. This carnage became a catalyst for the Sri Lankan Tamils exodus. In October 1983, I arrived in Montreal, Canada and lead the foundation of an organization called “Thamilar Ozhi” (Light for the Tamils) to help refugees. Canadians have been rolling out welcome mats for refugees for years. Settlement agencies, churches, community organiations and individuals have been aiding the new comers to rebuild their lives in their new home. These agencies have been struggling to implement innovative solutions to assist these newcomers and to provide services effectively.

INVORG is partnering with a settlement agency and implementing an innovative digital platform to improve collaboration, communication and knowledge sharing to improve services and experience. This platform is powered by INVORG’s E6-Human Experience Engine.

INVORG Joins the First Annual Grand Parade

On Saturday, June 2nd, we joined our friends from One Care Home and Community Support Services who hosted the First Annual Grand Parade, a fundraising walk for the seniors and people with health issues. One Care is a not-for-profit charitable organization that provides services to support and strengthen the health, independence and quality of life for individuals and their families.

For the past 3 years, INVORG has been collaborating with One Care in the region of Huron Perth in their service transformation and witnessed the selfless service provided by every team member and thousands of volunteers in making a difference.

As part of our commitment to help uplift the community, we had ourselves counted in this meaningful activity. It was a fulfilling experience to be able to go out to Stratford, Ontario to support the cause. It was amazing how we could engage in community activities like this while enjoying the music of nature, the pace of wildfowl and the cool breeze around Avon River. The weather was perfect as it was neither sunny nor rainy during the walk. Indeed, Mother Nature was one with us in doing something worthwhile for our dear seniors and friends with health issues. #TeamINVORG, as we called ourselves, was able to raise C$1,250 from 20 donors. The funds raised were way above our team goal! To our sponsors and donors, our heartfelt gratitude for your generosity!
