Introduction to PHSS

PHSS is a non-profit organization founded by families seeking support for their loved ones with complex medical needs. With limited options prior to PHSS's establishment, families often had to choose between institutional care and home care. PHSS was created to provide a better alternative , enabling individuals to live independently within their communities. Over the past 35 years, the organization has grown from supporting three individuals in one location to serving over 300 people across 70 locations in Ontario, funded by multiple government departments and private donors. 

Relying on paper documents hindered the quality of care by limiting access to comprehensive client information and creating issues with manual processes, leading to duplicated or inaccurate data.  

Outdated methods, such as fax and email, caused delays and miscommunications, making collaboration among staff, service providers, clients, and caregivers challenging.

Lack of comprehensive operational insights complicated timely and accurate decision-making, disrupting strategic planning and resource management.

Manual processes and redundant data entry consumed valuable staff time, diverting focus from core services and reducing overall productivity.

Manual documentation made it difficult to meet regulatory compliance and reporting standards, increasing the risk of errors, security breaches, and non-compliance with healthcare regulations.
